These spotlights are EXACTLY the same size and shape as the incandescent bulb you are replacing. The Lumens are slightly more than the filament style bulb. As a rule-of-thumb, the 3200K-Warm White bulbs are used in the bedroom or anywhere you would like a soft light. The 4100K-Neutral White bulbs are best suited for kitchen table, recliner, and over the couch. The 5500K-Day White is a high-contrast light best suited for task lighting. Over the captain’s chairs or other places where you would turn on the light, do something and turn it off again. A lot of customers refer to the 5500K as the BRIGHTER bulb. This is not the case. All the bulbs are exactly the same amount of lumens. The WHITER bulbs SEEM brighter, but they are not. They just appear that way because they are whiter.
The best way to install these bulbs is to turn off power to the fixture and remove the old bulb. Then turn on the power and line up the socket so that it is straight, in-line with the swivel part of the fixture. Then insert the LED bulb. When the bulb lights that means the registration pins on the sleeve of the bulb are lined up with the receiving slots on the socket. PUSH the bulb in the rest of the way, turn it a 1/8 of a turn CLOCKWISE and you’re finished.
