• Used for HYPER FLASH (fast turn signal flashing) When Installing LED Taillights.
• 2 Resistors to do BOTH Taillights.
Tail and Turn Signal Light LED Hyperflash Bulb Fix
Do your turn signals flash fast (hyper flash)? Or, do your tail lights not work correctly after you installed your new LED bulbs?
The reason for this is your car’s computer thinks your bulb is burnt out. LEDs don’t use much power and don’t have any natural resistance (because of the incandescent filament) needed across the terminals of your tail, signal, or brake lights.
To make your car think there are normal bulbs installed, you can put power resistors across the wires coming from your 1157 or 3157 bulb socket. This will make the car’s computer “think” there is a normal incandescent bulb in the socket.
For this, we use resistors that are capable of handling power up to 50 watts with low resistance (typically 6 ohms). Do not even think about using little electronic resistors that are low wattage. These resistors must be large and powerful otherwise they will melt!
To fix your Turn Signal hyper flash problem, all you need are these 2 Resistors and connectors.
If you only installed 2 LED bulbs, one for each of the tail light/turn signal/brake light for example, then you need 2 6 ohm resistors. The wattage should be 50watts.
Here is a diagram to follow to install your resistors:
